After Movember, here comes Armpits4August Published: July 18, 2013

The organizers of Armpits4August are hoping to raise awareness of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome by encouraging women to grow their underarm hair next month — heat wave and all, according to The Independent.

The site reports PCOS affects up to 10 percent of women.

A common symptom can be hirsutism, the term for excessive hair growth, something that one of the group’s co-founders battled with at work when wearing clothes that revealed her armpits, according to The Independent.
