Agent: Peyton Manning didn't want to get paid more than Tom Brady Published: March 27, 2014

According to Peyton Manning’s agent Tom Condon, when Manning hit free agency in 2012 there was one key stipulation to the negotiations: Manning didn’t want to get paid more than Tom Brady.

USA TODAY reports Andrew Brandt shared Condon’s story this week on Condon said he was hoping for a 12-team bidding process after Manning was released by the Indianapolis Colts, but the quarterback only wanted to visit with four. He quickly selected the Broncos.

As Condon explains, Manning then asked how much Brady made. When told it was $18 million a year, Manning instructed that Denver’s offer was not to exceed that total.
