Agents arrest McCurtain County man 10 years after wife disappeared

Hope Meek, 25, was reported missing in February 2002 by her husband several days after he last saw her, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations.

Man is arrested on murder complaint

— The husband of a woman who has been missing for more than 10 years was arrested Friday by Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents. Jerry Meek, 39, was arrested on a murder complaint in the death of Hope Meek, 25. Meek reported his wife missing in late February 2002, several days after he last saw her. Agents gathered circumstantial evidence to show that Hope Meek died Feb. 21, 2002, after a fight with her husband, the OSBI reported. Jerry Meek was taken to the McCurtain County jail. Bail was set at $250,000.
