American Hockey League lineup
The Central Hockey League has lost other cities to the American Hockey League over the years. San Antonio was a CHL power for several seasons as the Iguanas. The franchise eventually moved to the Triple-A AHL and is now known as the Rampage, the top farm team for the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes. One of the CHL’s most recent losses was the Austin Ice Bats. Austin, which sat out this past CHL season, will begin its first year as an AHL member this fall as the Texas Stars. The Stars will be the farm team for the Dallas Stars.
