High concentrations of ozone are expected, and people with heart and respiratory problems should reduce physical exertion and outdoor activity, according to the Department of Environmental Quality.

The alert is in effect for Canadian, Cleveland, Logan, McClain, Oklahoma and Pottawatomie counties. Alerts are also in effect for Tulsa and Lawton.
In those areas, people are asked to reduce vehicles on the road and avoid refueling two-cycle engines such as motorcycles and lawn mowers during the morning and afternoon hours.
