Air quality alerts have been issued Thursday for Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Lawton.

The alerts will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, the National Weather Service reports.

People with heart or respiratory ailments should reduce physical exertion outdoors.

People are encouraged to drive less, take the bus or carpool and avoid refueling during the morning and early afternoon hours. Outdoor burning should also be avoided, the weather service reports.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 93. South wind 6 to 9 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 72. Southeast wind around 8 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. South southeast wind 6 to 9 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 73. Southeast wind 5 to 9 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. East southeast wind around 10 mph.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 74.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 94.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 73.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 94.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 95.
