CHICAGO (AP) — Cold weather has forced the cancellation of about 680 flights at Chicago's major airports.
The city's Department of Aviation says 570 flights have been canceled Tuesday at O'Hare International Airport. The airlines also have canceled more than 110 flights at Midway International Airport.
O'Hare was reporting delays of up to one hour earlier Tuesday, but delays were reduced to about 15 minutes late in the day. There were delays reported at Midway.
Tuesday's cancellations come a day after carriers scrapped about 560 flights on Monday.
The National Weather Service reports the air temperature dropped to 11 degrees below zero at O'Hare and Midway on Tuesday morning and hovered around 2 degrees late in the day.
