TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Pet owners in Tuscaloosa have a chance to get their photos of their animals' with Santa Claus, with the $10 fee benefiting the West Alabama Humane Society.
The group's three-day holiday fundraiser starts Tuesday and continues through Thursday. Betty Freeman, the Humane Society's dog adoption coordinator, says proceeds will help the organization pay off its veterinarian bills for getting animals ready for adoption. She says vet bills can run $3,000 to $6,000 per month.
The Tuscaloosa News reports (http://bit.ly/VlYjcx ) the Humane Society will hold another fundraiser next weekend with its Christmas Critter Craft Bazaar. Held in front of Pet Supplies Plus on McFarland Boulevard, the event offers holiday gifts for people and pets — from T-shirts to homemade dog treats.
