The annual all-breed OKC Summer Classic Dog Shows got underway Wednesday in Oklahoma City.

The event will run through Sunday, starting at 8 a.m. each day at the Cox Convention Center. It’s hosted by the Oklahoma City Kennel Club, Mid-Del Tinker Kennel Club and the Lawton Dog Fanciers Association.

More than 1,000 dogs are expected to compete for the best-in-show title. There also will be AKC canine good citizen tests that allow spectators to watch as dogs demonstrate manners in a 10-step test.

Tickets are $7 for adults and $2 for children 12 and older. Children younger than 12 are admitted free.

Tickets can be purchased at the Cox Convention Center box office. For more information, go to www.okcsummerclassic.com.
