All-City Swimming: Girls first team

She placed third in this event, and the Huskies placed third in the team race.

Jacque Medina, Norman
Junior500 Freestyle

Medina was a huge reason why Norman placed sixth in the team race. She placed second in this event and also placed third in the 200 freestyle.

Alex Ballard, Southmoore
Freshman100 Backstroke

Showed she belonged on the biggest stage with a couple of great outings at the state meet. Ballard placed second in this event and also placed second in the 200 individual medley.

Kaitlin Kliewer, Ed. Memorial
Junior100 Breaststroke

Kliewer was the most consistent swimmer for a solid Memorial squad. She placed fifth in this event and in the 200 freestyle, and the Bulldogs placed fourth in the team race.

Coach of the Year

Steve Riggs, Edmond
It’s a different cast of characters every year, but the same success. The balance for the Edmond teams was incredible this year as North placed third, Memorial placed fourth and Santa Fe had a fantastic season in placing fifth.
