Division I signees are often hard to come by at the All-State duals, but three Oklahoma State recruits did compete on Wednesday night, picking up wins in dominant fashion at Whitey Ford Fieldhouse in Bixby.

Miami's Eli Hale (126 pounds) and Berryhill's Davey Dolan (145) both picked up pins for the Small East, and Altus' Keilan Torres (160) scored a major decision for the Large West.

“They (OSU) want us to come because this event represents our state well,” Dolan said. “We all agreed it'd be a fun way to go out in our high school careers.”

Hale's pin came in 3:21 over Comanche's Ricky Kelly, while Dolan took just 1:30 to pin Hinton's Jake Reading.

Torres defeated Brandon Hunt of Ponca City 14-4.

Another Division I signee expected to compete this week, but did not show up, was future Sooner Cade Wheelwright (126) of Plainview.

Tuttle's Zach Beard and Berryhill's Davey Dolan, both four-time state champions, were named co-Wrestlers of the Year by the Oklahoma Coaches Association before the All-State duals Wednesday night.

Beard (Class 4A) and Dolan (Class 3A) were also named Wrestlers of the Year in their respective classes.

The OCA Jim Thorpe Wrestler of the Year went to Miami's Eli Hale.

“It's a huge honor to receive the award,” Hale said. “We (Miami) don't get a ton of recognition, so it's nice to be noticed and recognized for something like this.”
