In a recent interview with BallisLife.com, recently retired NBA legend Allen Iverson was asked about Thunder star Kevin Durant.
More specifically, Iverson was asked whether he thought Durant could ever eclipse LeBron James in the hierarchy of basketball.
“He doesn’t have to,” Iverson said. “When we talk about basketball 20, 30 years from now, we are going to talk about Durant. We are going to talk about him being one of the all-time greats.”
“It’s like Michael Jordan being as great as he is,” Iverson continued. “But you still have to talk about Magic (Johnson), you still have to talk about (Larry) Bird, they’re going to be in that conversation. You might not say they’re better than Mike or anything like that. But as far as greatness, you have to talk about them.”
“That’s how Durant is going to be defined when it’s all over. He’s just going to be defined as being great.”
