Late last month, one of the state’s best high school basketball players announced he would not be staying in Oklahoma.
And on Friday, Allonzo Trier made it known where he’ll play his junior season.
Trier announced on Twitter that he’ll attend Montrose Christian Academy in Rockville, Md., the same school where Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant played his senior season of high school.
Trier, long viewed as one of the nation’s top players in the 2015 class, played two years for the OKC Storm after moving from Seattle in middle school. He then joined another homeschool program, Tulsa NOAH, for his sophomore season.
The 6-foot-3 shooting guard, who averaged 30 points per game for NOAH last year, has scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and a variety of programs across the country. He is rated as the 35th-best player in the nation by Rivals.com.
