Alonso to miss Spain's friendly with Uruguay

MADRID (AP) — Midfielder Xabi Alonso is out of Spain's squad for its friendly match against Uruguay because of an injury to his pelvis.
The Spanish federation says on its website Sunday that Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez will take Alonso's place.

Alonso was injured during Real Madrid's 1-0 loss at Granada on Saturday.
Spain faces Uruguay in Doha on Wednesday in the runup to World Cup qualifiers against Finland on March 22 and France three days later.
