Alzheimer’s disease is topic of workshop

EDMOND — Touchmark at Coffee Creek is hosting a workshop Tuesday for families dealing with the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease and other age-related dementia illnesses.

Lenee Lane, a consulting pharmacist with Sequoia Health Services in Oklahoma City, will speak about memory medications, why they are used and their importance.

Dr. Nathan Valentine, with Valentine Family Medicine, will speak about the brain and cognitive function.

Wendy Schrag, a registered nurse and Touchmark memory care manager, will speak about memory care philosophy, incorporating life enrichment and environmental and medical aspects.

The workshop is free and open to everyone. It is from 4:30 to 6:15 p.m. at Touchmark at Coffee Creek, 2801 Shortgrass Road. For more information, call Touchmark at 340-1975 or go to touchmarkedmond.com.
