American Airlines flight bound for Dallas makes emergency landing in Tulsa

An American Airlines jet made an emergency landing at Tulsa International Airport after striking a bird on takeoff Friday morning.

“The plane headed for Dallas hit a bird on takeoff and decided to circle back and land in Tulsa,’ said Tulsa International Airport spokeswoman Alexis Higgins.

The Boeing 757-200 was bound for Dallas, taking off at 10:31. It circled and landed back in Tulsa at 10:51 a.m., according to flight-tracking website FlightAware.com.
