American Indian heritage is celebrated in Oklahoma City

The 15th annual Native American Heritage Celebration was held Monday in Oklahoma City and featured dancing and other cultural experiences.

The 15th annual Native American Heritage Celebration was held Monday at the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Event Center.

The theme was “The Shared Journey: The Resiliency of Our Native People.” The event was sponsored by the state Department of Human Services Office for Civil Rights and the Native American Heritage Committee.

The program included an Apache dance club from Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, a Muscogee (Creek) choir, Miss Indian Oklahoma and the Indian Oklahoma City princesses.
