ANADARKO — Caddo County District Attorney Bret Burns met with the Anadarko Ministerial Alliance this morning to address concerns in the aftermath of the murder of the Rev. Carol Daniels, whose bloodied body was found Sunday inside Christ Holy Sanctified Church.

Daniels, 61, was slain between 10 a.m. and noon as she prepared for her sermon, Burns said. She died from "multiple sharp-force injuries," according to the State Medical Examiner's office.

"This was a private meeting between law enforcement and the local churches," Burns said. "I felt the facts of this case warranted a brief discussion with local church leaders so they can better understand the situation and take appropriate steps to remain vigilant."

Several ministers who attended the meeting said they were afraid to speak publicly.

"Darkness will always be overcome by light," said Andrew Ware, a preacher with the Pentecostal Church in nearby Carnegie. "All we can do is pray that the killer will be brought to justice."
