Anadarko guard Ashley Beatty verbally committed to Oral Roberts University on Saturday, putting to rest her recruiting as the school year gets underway.
“I don’t have to worry about getting a scholarship or anything,” she said. “I can just go out and play.”
Beatty said she chose ORU after spending time with the coaching staff, along with her love for the campus and chance to continue her Christian faith.
“I’ve never met a better staff than them,” she said. “That’s what won me over was the staff. You just don’t meet better people than that and I felt really at home there.”
Beatty averaged 21.9 points per game last season for the Warriors, leading them to the Class 4A championship game.
She is the younger sister of Oklahoma State’s Lakota Beatty.
