That’s for sure.

Recently on ESPN’s "College Football Live,” Ware predicted Oklahoma would go 8-4, including losing the season opener to BYU. In coach Bob Stoops’ 10 seasons at OU, the Sooners have lost four regular-season games only twice (1999 and 2005), and have gone 11-1, 10-2 and 10-2 the past three regular seasons.

"I look at what’s there and kind of dig in and define a team based on the year and not the reputation that a school brings,” Ware said in a conference call this week.

Ware, the 1989 Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Houston, has called only a handful of Big 12 games in recent seasons, primarily broadcasting Big Ten and ACC games.
