Andre Ware’s prediction: Sooners go 8-4

In predicting BYU would upset the Sooners in the opener Sept. 5 at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Ware failed to mention that BYU’s only returning starting offensive lineman is injured.

"I think it will be a very, very close football game, a closer football game than many think,” he said. "And Brent (Musburger) actually thinks it might be a blowout in Oklahoma’s favor. I don’t agree with that.”

Ware said the Sooners’ difficult schedule will produce three other losses.

"The trip to Miami concerns me. People can say what they want to about the Hurricanes, but they are going to play tough football in Miami. Tulsa is not going to be a cakewalk because they can score equally as fast as Oklahoma. And Nebraska is going to be a test, (as well as) Oklahoma State to conclude the season and certainly Oct. 17 against Texas.”
