Another case of West Nile virus reported Thursday in Oklahoma

Experts say the number of cases of West Nile virus in Oklahoma peaked in early September. Public health officials say even though the number of cases is slowing, it’s important to take precautions against mosquitoes.

The state Health Department confirmed one case of West Nile virus on Thursday, bringing this week’s number of cases to two.

Oklahoma is one of the states hit hardest by West Nile, breaking previous records of the number of cases and deaths reported.
