Rain chances will increase across parts of Oklahoma Wednesday, the National Weather Service reports.

There is a 40 percent chance Wednesday night in central Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma City area forecast is as follows:

Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy then gradually becoming mostly sunny with a high near 82. North, northeast wind between 7 and 16 mph with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Wednesday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy during the early evening then becoming cloudy with a low around 56. Northeast wind between 14 and 21 mph with gusts as high as 29 mph.

Thursday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy with a high near 61. Northeast wind between 16 and 18 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Thursday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy with a low around 55. North, northeast wind between 5 and 13 mph.
