Sam Bradford makes the right call by staying at OU
NORMAN — Our children can make us glow with pride.
That being the case, Kent Bradford must glow in the dark. The father of this year’s Heisman Trophy winner stood quietly to the side in the Stadium Club on Wednesday afternoon as his son, Sam, announced he would return as Oklahoma’s quarterback next season. Turns out every underclassman will return for the Sooners, taking them from a borderline Top-20 team to a Top-5 candidate next season. It took some coaxing to get the self-effacing Sam B. to show up at his own news conference. OU coach Bob Stoops would rather not assemble the media every January to announce who is, and who is not, coming back to school, but this get-together was warranted. We’re talking about this year’s Heisman winner ... and maybe next year’s Heisman winner, assuming Florida quarterbacking philanthropist Tim Tebow doesn’t overwhelm certain voters by donating his eyes to Stevie Wonder.
