THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TOPEKA HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM

WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 1 PM

CDT SUNDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TIMING...PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD INTO NORTHEAST AND

EAST CENTRAL KANSAS BY THIS AFTERNOON. ALTHOUGH PRECIPITATION

WILL LIKELY START OUT AS RAIN OR A RAIN/SNOW MIX...IT IS

EXPECTED TO TRANSITION OVER TO SNOW BY TONIGHT...WITH MODERATE

TO HEAVY SNOW LIKELY THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY MORNING. SNOWFALL

SHOULD BEGIN TO TAPER OFF BY EARLY SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...4 TO 7 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER

AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

* WINDS...NORTHEAST WINDS THIS AFTERNOON WILL SHIFT TO THE NORTH

TONIGHT. WINDS WILL INCREASE TONIGHT AND GUST TO AROUND 30 MPH

THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL CONDITIONS COULD BECOME DIFFICULT WITH SNOW

PACKED AND SLICK ROADS. GUSTY WINDS COULD ALSO CAUSE REDUCED
