NEW YORK (AP) — Comments on the New England Patriots by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

Chris Berman (ESPN, 2) — After all, Patriots are defending AFC champs.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 4) — Can never be overlooked. However, offensive line issues may mess up Super Bowl plans, along with Brady's hair.

Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 2) — Belichick-led team immune to Super Bowl loss hangover.

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 2) — Pats still best team in AFC East, in fact, not even close!

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 2) — Defending AFC champs have NFL's easiest schedule, meaning Tom Brady ought to be carving up opposition with great regularity.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 3) — Have Patriots improved AFC's worst defense? Another Lombardi Trophy hangs in the balance.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 3) — Better, deeper than team that went to Super Bowl last year.

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 1) — As long as Belichick and Brady are around, 12 wins and legitimate Super Bowl aspirations will follow.
