Aplin named to Camp Award watch list

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State quarterback Ryan Aplin has been named to the watch list for the Walter Camp 2012 Player of the Year Award.

Aplin is one of 50 players from across the nation named to the list that was released Friday and is the first Arkansas State player ever named to the Camp Award watch list.

Aplin was the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year last season and is the preseason choice as conference Offensive Player of the year.

Aplin is also on watch lists for the for the Davey O'Brien, Manning and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm awards.

The Camp Award list will be cut to 10 semi-finalists in November and the winner will be announced on Dec. 6.
