Appeals court won’t overturn sentence in Edmond mortgage fraud

DENVER — An appeals court recently upheld a more than seven-year prison sentence of a real estate agent convicted of fraud involving subprime lending for homes in Edmond’s Oak Tree neighborhood.

The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals , in a 16-page decision last week, rejected arguments of Brandon L. Baum that his conduct was not illegal and his sentence was excessive.
