Applause greets finishers in Shawnee
YMCA triathlon

SHAWNEE — There was an abundance of cheers for young athletes as they crossed the finish line Saturday at the fifth annual Shawnee YMCA Kids Triathlon.

Thirty-six children from Pottawatomie County competed in the triathlon.

Grove School in Shawnee won a trophy for having the most students participate. Josh Kalies won best overall male contestant and won in his division for ages 11-12.

Sisters Emmy and Abby Davies also won big. Emmy Davies was awarded the overall female medal, and won in her division for ages 9-10. Abby Davies won in her division for 11- to 12-year-old girls.

Question - why were only some of the results posted? There were several divisions and yet only three winners were named. Also, I believe that there were competitors there from counties other than Pattawatomie.
