LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Henderson State University senior linebacker Keaton Stigger has been named a finalist for the inaugural Cliff Harris Award.
The finalists were announced Wednesday for the prize that goes to the top small college defensive football player in the country — representing some 500 NCAA Division II, III and NAIA schools.
The winner will be announced Dec. 24 and honored at the Little Rock Touchdown Club's annual awards banquet in February, which will feature guest speaker Lou Holtz.
The winner also gets the $3,000 Cliff Harris Award Trophy.
Last month, the Great American Conference selected Stigger as its Defensive Player of the Year.
