Arkansas man dies in Oklahoma accident

An Arkansas man died after a traffic accident Sunday in McCurtain County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

About 10:35 a.m., Tom Wutkan, 19, was one of five passengers in a southbound sports utility vehicle on U.S. 259 about five miles south of Smithville. The vehicle, driven by Souvenir Kabua, 19, of Springdale, Ark., crossed the center line and went off the roadway where it struck a guardrail and flipped multiple times, troopers said.

Wutkan, who was thrown from the vehicle, died at the scene. The other riders were taken to hospitals. No one wore seat belts, troopers said. has disabled the comments for this article.
