Arkansas State names new safeties coach

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State football coach Blake Anderson has named Allen Johnson as the Red Wolves' safeties coach.

Johnson comes to ASU from Lamar University where he was assistant head coach the past two seasons, defensive coordinator in 2011 and coached the secondary each of the three seasons.

Johnson has coached previously at Texas-El Paso, Midwestern State University and at Blinn College. He also served as the quality control coach at Oklahoma State.
