Armstrong College creates musical theater production

More than 120 people are participating in the production, including students, faculty and staff from Armstrong's Imperial Academy, local universities, members of the community and a 12-piece orchestra.

“We have done many of our own dance recitals and other vocal showcases, but ‘Jeremiah' is the first full production to combine these efforts into one musical theater piece,” said Armstrong College music director Ryan Malone. “The melding of these two art forms makes for a completely new musical theater experience with a timeless storyline that anyone can relate to.”

The musical is being presented in conjunction with the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation's archaeology exhibition about Jeremiah. Guests can view archaeological artifacts discovered in Jerusalem that are included in the exhibit “Seals of Jeremiah's Captors Discovered.”

The interactive exhibit, which is on display in the Armstrong Auditorium lobby, includes figurines, large vessels and royal seal impressions dating to biblical times. Admission to “Jeremiah” is free; patrons are encouraged to arrive early because of limited seating.
