Oklahoma CountyAssistant District Attorney Gayland Gieger said the case against Reza Ross Pourdavood, 53, and his wife, Leah Pourdavood, 41, remains open.
"It remains under review,” Gieger said.
Leah Pourdavood, a Jones Elementary teacher for 12 years, is on administrative leave with pay.
Langston officials are in the process this week of reinstating Reza Pourdavood, a math professor for nine years.
University public relations director Ashley Gibson said it is the school’s understanding that the district attorney ruled there isn’t enough evidence to file charges against the man.
He has been on administrative leave with pay since the couple’s arrest.
Gieger said, "I haven’t made a final decision.”
Edmond police arrested Reza Pourdavood on seven complaints of sexual abuse of a child. His wife was arrested on a complaint of allowing a child to be sexually abused.
Jones Superintendent Mike Steele said Wednesday he understands the district attorney is still considering charges. So Leah Pourdavood’s school status hasn’t changed.
"To be fair to all parties, we are letting the legal system do its job,” Steele said.
An Edmond police report states police were notified of the possible abuse of a teenager after the alleged victim went to her high school counselor.
