Profiles of Life: Beverly Ann Arthur

Beverly Arthur's goal in life was to worry about other people.

She had called a neighbor to make sure she knew what to do in a
tornado. Then she made sure her family was prepared.

Even after the destruction, she encouraged her husband, Melvin,
to check on her mother, Lois Madden, who was at the house with
them. He did.
She lived and died as a caring person.
Arthur, 51, of Oklahoma City loved ceramics and cake decorating.
She was a member of Hillcrest Christian Church, where she was
involved with the Christian Women's Fellowship, the choir and the
mobile meal.
Arthur had a successful heart transplant in July 1997 and was
making progress. After 15 years in a wheelchair, she learned to
walk again. And she did it all with a sweet spirit.
"I never heard her complain or anything like that," Melvin said.
"She walked into a room, she lit it up. That's what everyone said
about her."
