Profiles of Life: Bill Doty
Southwest Oklahoma City resident Bill Doty loved golf, usually
at Earlywine Park, but didn't play as much as he would have liked
because he spent so much time working.

Doty, 54, was a meat-cutter by profession and an assistant
manager for Spencer's Super Thrift at Interstate 44 and State
Highway 37. He had also worked at Snyder's IGA in Yukon, and at
times was known to work two jobs. On Monday, he was working at
Spencer's, which was narrowly missed by a tornado, when he suffered
a heart attack.
"He was a hard worker, and he was a great dad," said his wife,
Sondra, a kindergarten teacher at Moore Christian School. "He loved
to play golf but didn't get to very often, because he had to work
so much."
Doty, a Marlow native, was father to two sons, Mike, 28, and
Dakota, 8.
"He had a great sense of humor," said his wife. "He liked to
tell jokes. He was kind of ornery and liked to pull practical
jokes."
A neighbor, Glen West, said he had known Doty for a couple of
years.
"He was a real good family man. He loved his family," said West.
"When they would leave for work in the morning, I'd see him kiss
her goodbye. I thought that was kind of nice."
