Wednesday, April 12 After school, Jamie Rose Bolin, 10, is lured into the apartment of a downstairs neighbor, Kevin Ray Underwood, in Purcell, police say.
Underwood, a grocery store stocker, goes to work as usual in Oklahoma City. Police in the evening issue an Amber alert over Jamie's disappearance. Officials say she may have been kidnapped by a sexual predator. Some witnesses tell police they saw Jamie get into a Chevrolet Tahoe on Wednesday. Police issue a detailed description of the vehicle, including that it had a Texas tag and an illustration of a fox in the back window. They also release a sketch of a possible suspect. Hundreds of law enforcement officers search for Jamie. FBI agents check computers at the library in Purcell to see if Jamie could have arranged a meeting with someone she met online. Underwood goes to work again, but leaves his job early -- around noon. About 3:45 p.m., he is stopped in Purcell at a checkpoint. Suspicious FBI agents question him.
