Wednesday, April 12 After school, Jamie Rose Bolin, 10, is lured into the apartment of a downstairs neighbor, Kevin Ray Underwood, in Purcell, police say.

She is watching the cartoon "SpongeBob SquarePants" when Underwood hits her in the head with a wooden cutting board and then smothers her, police say. He later tries to cut off her head, police say.

Her father, auto mechanic Curtis Bolin, and Purcell Park Apartments manager Tim Bayer search door to door for her when she doesn't come home. Around 6 p.m., they talk to Underwood, who says he is tired and has to work the next day. Police think by then she was already dead.

Thursday, April 13
Underwood, a grocery store stocker, goes to work as usual in Oklahoma City.

Police in the evening issue an Amber alert over Jamie's disappearance. Officials say she may have been kidnapped by a sexual predator.

Some witnesses tell police they saw Jamie get into a Chevrolet Tahoe on Wednesday. Police issue a detailed description of the vehicle, including that it had a Texas tag and an illustration of a fox in the back window. They also release a sketch of a possible suspect.

Friday, April 14
Hundreds of law enforcement officers search for Jamie. FBI agents check computers at the library in Purcell to see if Jamie could have arranged a meeting with someone she met online.

Underwood goes to work again, but leaves his job early -- around noon. About 3:45 p.m., he is stopped in Purcell at a checkpoint. Suspicious FBI agents question him.
