Oklahoma City University on Wednesday announced the hiring of Denney Crabaugh as head baseball coach, replacing Charley Lodes, whose contract was not renewed.
Crabaugh, 30, has been pitching coach at OCU the past two years. OCU president Jerald Walker made the announcement, saying: "Oklahoma City University remains committed to a genuinely competitive intercollegiate baseball program with high academic standards and a high-caliber coaching staff."
OU to Host Wrestling Camps
The University of Oklahoma will host two wrestling camps this summer.
The first will be July 7-10 and is only for elementary-age boys. The other will run July 11-22.
The training camps are designed for the serious-minded wrestler and will have emphasis on hard wrestling, weightlifting, running and technique.
Staff members for the camps include OU head coach Stan Abel, OU assistant coach Jerry Stanley and OU freestyle coach Mike Gomez.
Others are Mickey Martin, coach at McAlester High School, Dr. Ron Tripp, part-time coach, and Terry Smith, coach at Western Heights High School.

Thunderchiefs to Hold Tryouts
Oklahoma City's Thunderchiefs, a local semi-pro football club, is holding open tryouts Saturday and Sunday for interested players (high school graduates and older).
The tryouts will begin at 1 p.m. both days at the rugby field located at Southwest 29 and Independence in Oklahoma City.

Moore Boys Coach Resigns
Moore boys basketball coach Richard Scofield has resigned to accept the head boys basketball position at Sulphur Springs, Texas, a town of 17,000 located 80 miles east of Dallas.
Scofield compiled a 169-93 record during his 11 years at Moore and was 44-22 in three years as head coach in Liberal, Kan. BIOG: NAME:Archive ID: 351324
