Pink Floyd's founder's life ends sadly

It was not an inconsequential death, but the passing of Syd Barrett after 35 years in seclusion scanned more like the closing of one of rock 'n' roll's saddest stories. He had been gone a long time, and the chances of a musical or even mental-emotional comeback seemed remote to impossible.
