Sooners top Big 12 preseason poll
With 13 starters back from an 8-4 team, Oklahoma was voted the 2006 preseason pick to win the Big 12 's south division in a poll of media members.
The Sooners received 23 first-place votes -- 18 more than defending national champion Texas -- and 163 total points in the poll that was released by the conference Thursday. The Longhorns, with 144 points, were picked second in the South.
