With Larry Birdine lost to injury last preseason, Calvin Thibodeaux responded with his best season as a Sooner, leading the team with 10 sacks and producing 69 total tackles. Now he's part of a five-man rotation that makes defensive end a strength of the defense.

Do you like or dislike practice?

I like practice, because you get a chance to see what you ain't doing right and you get to clean it up before game day.

What do you dislike most about practice?

Running afterwards. I don't like running afterwards. Practice is fun.

It's the running afterwards.

What do you like most about practice?

I like pass rushing. We do pass rushing drills. I like that. It's fun to do that.

Do you wish you could practice without the quarterbacks in the blue jerseys?

Definitely. That would be cool, man. Get back there and finally get to hit 'em. That would be awesome. I understand why they have blue jerseys. But if they didn't, that sure would be fun.

If you didn't play for assistant coach Chris Wilson, who on the OU staff would you like to play for?

Probably coach (Kevin) Sumlin. He just seems kind of laid back, kind of funny. I wouldn't mind playing for him.

Do you like movies?

Comedies. I like comedies.

Who plays you in the Calvin Thibodeaux Story?

I'll let Shaq play it.

What's your best sport besides football?

I used to throw the shot put. I threw the shot put like 59 feet. Shot put was cool.

Thibodeaux is a Cajun name. You're from Houston, but did your family come from Louisiana?

A lot of my family is from Louisiana. I got a lot of family down there; majority of my family's from Alexandria.
