It took awhile, but once the Blazers caught fire Friday night, they blazed to victory.

After a sluggish start, the Blazers rallied to beat Lubbock 4-3 in a seven-round shootout at the Ford Center.

Story line: The Blazers came back from a 3-0 deficit to end Lubbock's three-game winning streak.

First star: Lubbock's Simon Watson had two goals and an assist.

Second star: Lubbock's Jimmy Callahan had a goal and an assist.

Third star: The Blazers' Ryan Watson scored his first goal of the CHL season, since returning to the U.S. from England.

Key stat: Blazers penalty killers are 40-for-43 in the last six games.

Turning point of game: Gordon Bell stealing the puck behind the Lubbock goal and centering a pass to Marc Connors, who scored the game-tying goal.

Noteworthy: The Blazers have added center A.J. MacLean and waived defenseman Rod Sundquist, who had missed five straight games with back problems.
