Lineman reaps honors while impressing NFL scouts

NORMAN — When Chris Messner arrived at Oklahoma as a skinny, 6-foot-6, 215-pound kid signed to be an offensive lineman — a position he hadn't really played before — he was more than a project.

Just getting up to his current weight of 280 pounds was tough, not to mention the work it would take to become a starter on one of the Big 12 's top teams.
