She asked for a .45.

Police say she's lucky she only got a 9 mm.

About noon Tuesday, a woman was firing a pistol at the H&H Indoor Gun Range, 400 S Vermont Ave., when a hot shell casing — ejected from the gun — fell down the front of her shirt, Oklahoma City police Sgt. Gary Knight said. The woman jumped as the hot metal touched her skin and reached for her chest, accidentally shooting herself in the leg, Knight said.

The woman, later identified by police as Anna Herrera-Gomez, 23, suffered a minor leg wound and was taken to OU Medical Center.

A paramedic who happened to be target shooting at the range came to her aid, range owner Miles Hall said.

.Hall said the range staff reacted quickly and did an excellent job taking care of the woman.
