Ex-judge requests public censure

A former top state judge apologized Monday for "stupid” professional misconduct that embarrassed the judiciary but he asked the Oklahoma Supreme Court to give him only a public censure.

"I was plain stupid. I wasn't thinking straight,” Steve Lile said at a disciplinary hearing before the Oklahoma Bar Association , an organization of state attorneys.
