National Lacrosse League representatives will be in Oklahoma City on Thursday to discuss the possibility of placing an expansion franchise in the Ford Center in 2008.

Doug Fritts, vice president of communications, said the league will meet with city officials and a potential franchise owner. The group is expected to tour the Ford Center.

The NLL is a professional indoor league with 13 teams in major markets such as Chicago, Buffalo, New York, Philadelphia and Toronto. The 16-game season runs January through April. Most NLL teams are owned or operated by NHL and NBA teams.
