The Oklahoma Slam
State hunters target Merriam's, Rio Grandes and Eastern wild turkeys

Most people don't think of wild turkeys when a grand slam is mentioned.

But for hardcore turkey hunters, a grand slam is the harvesting of all four sub-species of North American wild turkeys, whether it be in a single season or in a career.

More Info

The fourth sub-species of wild turkey in North America required to complete a Grand Slam is the Osceola, or Florida, turkey.

If a hunter also takes a Gould's sub-species in Mexico, he or she has completed a Royal Slam. Add the Ocellated turkey of Central America to the turkey hunter's trophy list and that is a World Slam.
