Blues event to benefit Texas child

Local blues artists will perform in a fundraiser Saturday for a young boy who needs medical help.

Logan Townsend, 2, of Abilene, Texas, is in need of a life-saving small bowel and liver transplant. He is at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, according to the boy's Web site.

The Oklahoma Blues Society fundraiser will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at The Biting Sow in Bricktown, 1 E California Ave.

Donations will be taken at the door. The event includes raffles and a silent auction. People also are asked to donate old cell phones.

The bands scheduled to play include Night School, Back on Track Blues Band, Doc Blue & Revue Band, Debbie Henning, Stinnett Brothers, Dan Danger and The Danger Zone, Act Casual, Miss Blues, Sweet Brenda & Sourmash.
