Brian Bosworth's acting career never blossomed. A few movies. A little TV. Since 2001, only a cameo as a prison guard in "The Longest Yard” and a part in a "CSI: Miami” episode.

But the Boz wasn't a bad actor. He had — big surprise — some decent screen presence. Some natural charm. Which is the only reason "Stone Cold” lives.
Bosworth's 1991 film debut becomes available June 12 on DVD. By any measurement, "Stone Cold” was a goofy movie. Wooden actors, a flimsy budget, a stupid plot, although 16 years later, helicopters flying into the Mississippi state capitol don't seem quite so unbelievable.
Not even a good title. Think of stone cold and the Boz, and you figure that's what Bo Jackson knocked him in that memorable Oakland-Seattle game.
But Bosworth was the best part of the film, portraying an undercover cop who infiltrates a biker gang.
Not a stretch for Bosworth, who spent much of his public life undercover. Truth is, Bosworth was all actor, even in real life, portraying a football cartoon character who captivated Oklahomans and snookered pro scouts. The Boz persona allowed a great college linebacker to make a few million dollars and a few forgettable movies, including one that won't seem to die.
