OU gets football commitment
Oklahoma picked up a commitment from
Houston Strake Jesuit defensive end
David King on Saturday night.
King, a 6-foot-5, 238-pound all-district defensive end, also had offers from
Texas A&M,
Oklahoma State,
Virginia,
Texas Tech,
Nebraska, and Northwestern.
•TU hires OCU golf coach: Sara Mobley, who led
Oklahoma City University to the past two NAIA national titles in women's golf, was hired Friday as an assistant at
Tulsa.
Mobley, 29, previously was a student assistant at
Northeastern State University, where she played her final two years of collegiate golf, before coaching at a
Texas high school.

RedHawks to honor Allgood's cousin: The
Oklahoma RedHawks will honor the late Col. Dr.
Brian Allgood and raise money for an OU Medical School scholarship in his name at the RedHawks' 7:05 game against
Colorado Springs tonight at
Bricktown Ballpark.
Allgood, first cousin of RedHawks executive director
John Allgood, was the allies' top medical officer in
Iraq when he was killed in the line of duty in January. Col. Allgood was an OU Medical School graduate.
A silent auction will be held tonight. Silent auction items include a
Sammy Sosa autographed bat and a
Bob Stoops autographed helmet and football.
•Oklahoma runners to compete in New Mexico: Oklahomans
Cody Camacho of
Enid,
Kevin Schwab of Mustang,
Rob Redwine of Jenks and
Quintell Wilson of Edmond North will make up the Oklahoma 3200-meter relay team today at the Great Southwest high school track meet in
Albuquerque, N.M.
Camacho is expected to also compete in the 800-meter run.
The Great Southwest meet consists of the best high school track athletes from Oklahoma, Texas,
Utah,
Colorado,
Arizona and New
Mexico.
